Our Mission
Parents’ Alliance for Differently Abled Learners Society (P.A.D.A.L.) is a mid-Vancouver Island based coalition of parents/primary caregivers who collectively advocate for all children to receive equitable and meaningful access to education and other community programming.
Legacy
This Coalition group has been created as a response to School District 68’s lack of supports for children, with or without designations who do not fit within the parameters of what is perceived by most people as a typical student. We welcome parents whose children are in public schools and those of children who were forced to leave, due to the lack of support, abuse, neglect, or being denied full time entry into SD 68 schools.
We Love Inclusive Educators
We believe that the vast majority of our teachers, educational assistants, support staff and administrators have the best of intentions and are motivated to see our children strive and succeed, but often are frustrated and overwhelmed by the lack of resources. We want to help them gain access to those resources to create greater job satisfaction. It has been proven that by making educators happier and healthier in their careers, they are more likely to be more positive and effective role models for all the children in their classrooms.
How can we help?
Please contact us if you are a caregiver of a child who is facing challenges in their ability to learn and or interact with others in their community.
Pleases contact us if you are an educator, coach or a mentor in the Central Vancouver Island region and are seeking support regarding strategies on how to provide support to one of your students, or to assist in securing resources for your program, classroom and or school.
